Hello everyone.
I am conscious that it has been some time since we posted an update to let people know how the charity is performing, including posting any news about current or planned respite opportunities.
Our commitment
First and foremost, Respite for Veterans (RFV) remains active and committed to our mission, and we will continue to provide respite opportunities to our beneficiaries to the best of our abilities and available funding.
Our Plan
The last months have been challenging. Like many charities, the ongoing task of fundraising operational and beneficiary activities can be difficult, particularly where people and organisations face growing economic challenges. These challenges apply to RFV as much as they do to other charitable organisations but were optimistic…. we have a plan!
What’s coming next
Over the coming months we will be implementing a plan to strengthen the RFV team through growing our number of charitable trustees, volunteers and supporters. This plan will not only enhance our overall capabilities, but it will also enable increased fundraising through direct donations, sponsorship, and volunteer-led fundraising activities. Furthermore, and quite crucially, we will seek to provide a range of respite opportunities and experiences through existing and future partnerships with other charitable and social organisations.
Starting in early July 2025, we will be issuing a quarterly newsletter to all registered beneficiaries to keep them up to date with future opportunities, including providing key updates on how the charity is growing, and how we plan to meet the evolving needs of our beneficiaries. Additionally, we will be improving our overall communications approach to ensure any last-minute opportunities are communicated as quickly as possible to ensure these are not missed!
Action Required (Re-validation)
One more key activity that will take place, will be the re-validation of existing and pending beneficiaries. The reason for this is to ensure we have the most up-to-date information on our beneficiaries, so that we can fully understand their needs, and ensure as and when opportunities arise, we can direct these as quickly as possible to those who would benefit the most. To that end, please keep your eyes open for an email from info@respiteforveterans.org asking you to re-register with us. I appreciate this may be frustrating for some, however it should only take a minute or so. We thank you inn advance for your patience and your support.
Thank you!!!
Finally, I would like to reiterate our commitment and dedication to supporting our beneficiaries and their families. We are confident that the charity has a positive future, and with the right support, we will play a key part in improving the lives, welfare and wellbeing of our amazing armed forces community.
Take care, stay safe.
Warmest Regards, Respite for Veterans
Hello everyone.
It has been a while since our last update, but I am pleased to say that we have been working hard in the background to ensure all the foundations are in place to support the formal launch of the charity, including implementing key policies and processes to help us fully support our beneficiaries.
In the coming week we will launch a number of fundraising campaigns and activities focussed on securing our first ever dedicated respite facilities in the beautiful Cotswold countryside. This facility will be available all year round for our beneficiaries and their families. In addition, we will also be seeking to secure other respite facilities, including funding beneficiary respite breaks and experience across the UK.
We will also be actively promoting the charity to try and find new volunteers who can help us fundraise. For example, taking part in established events such as marathons, or even creating new events specifically designed to raise funds for Respite for Veterans. By the end of July, we should have our new Just Giving site up and running, meaning this will be available to anyone who wishes to fundraise on our behalf.
As a reminder, Respite for Veterans are dedicated to working for the benefit of UK service and ex-service personnel with disabilities or are wounded. We strive to provide non-clinical respite facilities and experiences to aid the health and wellbeing of our beneficiaries and their families. We are here to help in any way we can.
Finally, if you or anyone you know needs our help, please go to www.respiteforveterans.org and contact us either via phone or by using the contact form.
Take care, stay safe.
Warmest Regards, Respite for Veterans
