What is Respite for Veterans?
Respite for Veterans (RFV) is a registered Charitable Organization (CIO) dedicated to veteran support, working for the benefit of UK service and ex-service personnel with disabilities or are wounded. We are a small, yet passionate group of volunteers with a mix of Armed forces and civilian backgrounds. We strive to provide respite facilities and experiences to aid the health and wellbeing of our beneficiaries and their families.
Why do we do what we do?
Most of our volunteers have either served in the Armed forces or had family members that have. There are strong links to the Armed Forces, and a great understanding of the sacrifices made, including the impact to those that have been wounded or have disabilities. In some cases, some of our volunteers also have been wounded during their military service.
These links and these first-hand experiences are why we are dedicated to our charitable purpose and committed to giving back to those UK Service and ex-service personnel (and their families) who have sacrificed so much for others.
"For the public benefit, to relieve the needs of UK service and ex-service personnel with disabilities or who have sustained injuries in service (and by extension their families and carers) in particular by the provision and assisting in the provision of respite facilities and experiences designed to aid and facilitate in their physical and mental recovery"
"To be the charitable trusted partner of choice for providing respite facilities and experiences for both beneficiaries and other service charities"
"To deliver high quality and safe respite facilities and experiences to meet the individual needs of our beneficiaries, and to provide a caring and personalized service which is fully linked to pathways that aid improved health and well-being"
