What is Respite for Veterans?
Respite for Veterans (RFV) is a registered Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) dedicated to veteran non-clinical support, working for the benefit of UK service and ex-service personnel with disabilities or are wounded. We are a small, yet passionate group of volunteers with a mix of Armed forces and civilian backgrounds. We strive to provide respite opportunities and experiences to aid the health and wellbeing of our beneficiaries and their families.
Why do we do what we do?
Most of our volunteers have either served in the Armed forces or had family members that have. There are strong links to the Armed Forces, and a great understanding of the sacrifices made, including the impact to those that have been wounded or have disabilities. In some cases, some of our volunteers also have been wounded during their military service.
These links and these first-hand experiences are why we are dedicated to our charitable purpose and committed to giving back to those UK Service and ex-service personnel (and their families) who have sacrificed so much for others.
"To give veterans the vital rest, relief, and renewal they deserve, by delivering respite opportunities and experiences designed to aid and facilitate in their physical and mental wellbeing"
"To be a leading force in building a society where every veteran, regardless of injury or circumstance, has access to meaningful respite opportunities that restore strength, foster connection, and ensure that no one who has served is left isolated or overwhelmed.."
"Respite for Veterans offers accessible respite opportunities, experiences, and support for disabled or wounded UK veterans. We partner with care providers, communities, and donors to deliver breaks, short stays, adaptive activities, peer connection, and logistical non-clinical support, so veterans can rest, recover, and reconnect."
